Once upon a time there was this beautiful girl...who had so many interesting friends around her who would be better defined as fans rather than friends. They made her not so bright life into a living circus.
First comes the Muddapappu(MP)...these guys were close for a brief amount of time in the first two years of her graduation...i am not sure i remember how they met but they did. There was a spark when they first met though they failed to observe the spark was moving quite slow. The drama involved (sorry if you were expecting a word close to romance here instead of drama) was so slow that the daily serials in ETV seemed entertaining. Anyways, finally a day came when they wanted to decide if it was love or something else when MP, who is most probably the first person on the right most end on the (fun<----->emotional) line of our species, dumped our girl. This has left our protagonist in shambles. The girl being the person second from right in the above line :P thought of all her miseries since childhood and went into a deep depression.
After a very slow year...she finally made some good friends and stood near the middle of our line (then) and luckily other than a few minor proposals she came out of her college in flying colours and was placed in a big corporate. One thing she failed to notice was one of the guys who proposed his love to her just the day she left her college, Freak. Freak is an energetic guy who is quite the desi. I am sure he would leave the impression of a rough, how do i care guy when you see him. Well, this wouldnt be a nice story if he was that way.
Freak...depressed that he got rejected left our gal and (well since this is a story from the gals side, i am not sure what he did in this gap of around 3-4 months) suddenly called back one fine night. And the converstation goes like this:
gal: hello...(2 secs pause)...hello...(4 secs pause)...hello...(8 secs pause)...
boy/gal on the other side: no reply...CUT
Then she gets an SMS....'Just wanted to hear your voice once and nothing more...!!'
5 mins...our gal being pulled to the right end of the line because of the recent happenings is speechless.
Another sms pops up: 'I still love you and i absolutely can not live without you....' (i can never rephrase such an sms...sorry dude i am not being able to make justice to your emotions here).
Now the gal, our main character, is a little guilty..."What did i do? What went wrong? He was a good friend. ??" and many more thoughts were popping up, confusing her recent organized thoughts...pushing her more to the right end of the line.
I mentioned the recent circumstances were pulling her to the emotional end of the human race. That was because our Muddapappu was back with a bang. This guy moved to the northern part of India, close to the Himalayas (well closer when compared to AP) and guess thats what helped the realization.
Realization part 1: "How the hell did i dump such a sweet beautiful gal?"
Rzn part 2: "How the hell can i find such a cute girlfriend all of a sudden now?" (in plain words Desperate).
He called our gal and tells her how much he loves her. How he can't describe in human language how he misses her?
(Please note 2 things here, MP's realizations are my imagination for the reasons of him coming back which are most probably quite true and this second entry of MP happened concurrently with Freaks second bout of love).
Both Freak and MP have managed to push our gal to the most emotional end of the line almost making her insane from all the emotions. Our gal with all her innocence was trying to find some good friends, incidentally from her training batch in the corporate, to tap out all these comically sad things in her life.
In case you were wondering, how is she still sane? The answer is the narrator who is the 1st guy on the left end of the line and still a few miles away from the second was always balancing all these emotions giving her new perspectives. Anyways, the narrator doesnt intend to take away the focus from the protagonist (one thing he is quite good at) and is going to leave the interference here. :D Also...non-emotional = fun end of the line also comes from a very discriminating thought process of the narrator (me).
So once she found that all the guys and gals (from their first impressions) are cool and she could hang out with them without any worries, she started having fun again.
This is exactly when the third character, Kinges (no typo here) arrived. This guy has a unique way of flirting. He comes to our main character in the breaks and tells her 'I love you'. Then he again tells her, 'hey, i am telling you many things i feel like. dont mind' or something like that. They had training sessions which mostly spanned 9 hours or a little more and our gal had to hear this guys 'never mind' words again and again.
I guess the group dinners and lunches were the worst when the never mind Kinges keeps mumbling some smart filmisshhtyle totally witless love words when the super possessive MP calls up to scold her for going out with all these GUYS when she shud have been a good girl staying home (this guys seriously needs to go a lot closer to himalayas) and an occasional call (no speech from other side and a new number every time) or sms from our Freak have made our frens life a living hell.
This is when two superb occasions happened.
1. A team dinner at a nice pub with free drinks.
2. a full team outing to a nearby hill station.
Kinges was at the peak of his romantic mumbling on occasion one and spurted out some non-sense that pushed our protagonist into the deep valley after the right end of the Fun<->Emo rope.
Occasion two has brought out a new fan whose heart blossomed into a full beautiful flower during the trip.
Rock Star Liberty (RosLee) has arrived into the the club with a bang.
Even though this smart guy's attention was a little short lived it kind of had a permanent effect.
Haa not on the gal or someone else but it stays becoz he shared all his interest (while guessing) online. :P
While all these super human lover squad was busy making our protagonist's life more happening than any other gal of that age group, our friend too wasn't planning to stay low.
This is when a small flower has bloomed in the gal's heart when see first saw Nobel Winner (yaa thats his name) who works in another department. She put her part of effort to gain the attention of this very handsome guy. Her true friends helped her gathering more information and things were going great till the routine loving Fate played its part and our Nobel winner sir turned out to be a great known player.
This was when that beautiful weekend arrived. Its now time for me to do some justice to the title.
Our gals fren, Light (another gal, wanted to name her as lightning but lite) has arrived from a nearby metro. Light who graduated from one of the premier institutes in our great country summoned upon the hero of the nether world (the institute i mean), one and only Rambooo...!!
Light and Rambo carry along with them the great attitude they gained from their great hardships in the nether world and that meeting is when our hero Rambo laid his eyes on the protagoninst.
Rambo is a one guy who was born to serve all the ladies he know or meets and even total strangers. You may ask what about guys, i am sure this guy has been presented with a vision that can only see gals. Sick or lucky doesnt matter here. Here is a question to you readers. How would you plan to meet a gal you like next time? (given that she is going to come to a place you call). I can think of two answers Coffee or Dinner. Rambo is above the human race here, this guy has invited our fren to meet for breakfast and many such happening events since then.
This guy has (in my idea) a big book full of maps on how to please a gal. It shud be having a great number of plans you can make with a gal. He is a genius in making these plans and just does it in his free time. Yet, trust me you can never guess how good or elaborate these plans are. Well, that can be because of two reasons (two again...god somehow two got stuck to me today)...1. he has lots of free time, 2. he never used a plan he previously made because he never had a proper girl friend. (again my imagination or not) :P.
Well, this guys sms's awesome plans each day to ask for our gals company. But as you can see from all the super experiences and the live circus our gal sees daily she never replies to the 50+ odd sms's she gets each day. In case you were wondering 50+ (wtf), well, thats how detailed his plans are. Ha haa...!!
So, now there is this good friend (a guy again) of this girl who kind of understands these guys or atleast how to escape these kind of guys, suggested our friend to completely ignore MP and Freak (easy suggestion since they are like a 1000kms away). Then there's Kinges who was a little fine after a nice class from our fren and Roslee who most probably shifted his attention to someone else...both these are now ignorable though they meet daily. But guess they are more frens than fans now.
If you were thinking..."AaaaH...the heat has finally cooled down..!!" This is when MP and Freak are back with a bang. Thats also because its the birthday of our super cute friend and protagonist, the gal.
Since the gal is on a complete ignore program she didnt take 4-5 calls from Freak (also because they were simply unknown numbers :P) and thats when the ultra powered character entered the show. The adopted sister (friend who is kind of sister like) of Freak, Freakess (like princess) called and the gal unfortunately took the call. Freakess freaked out and scolded the gal (totally dumbstruck as the situation demands) for not taking calls from Freak and she cant see how depressed the rough desi freak became. Thats when there was a beep (the gal cut the line). The next call was from a different number (how do they manage to get so many new numbers) and this time it was Freakess questioning the dare (intelligence) of the gal when she cut her call. CUT. (the gal is a wiser now from the guidance from a good friend :P).
Also at the same time, MP has sent the gal a beautiful present. An idea thats hard to perceive. He sent her a poster of his and her photo side by side along with a coffee mug printed with the same. I leave the part of what he wanted her to see from the gifts to you. But i did get another rare idea when i heard about this. I thought it would be good if i started a merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, photoframes etc) with the same poster which all the common and uncommon friends would wear..with a caption..."Pray for their love".
Imagine what all other fans especially Freak and Rambo would do if they saw a stranger wearing that tee.
In case you people are waiting for an ending or a climax to all this fan stuff, you are not going to get it today. Since, this isnt just some move or an imagination but simply life. In case you have a question how i am involved in this story...well you can say i am a keen observer who is thoroughly entertained. Also, if you are wondering if this all realty...i would like to quote..."Truth is stranger than fiction" and when there is truth there are lies. Its part realty and part fiction. Leave your comments.

Life - Before and After G
Before (B) and After (A) Graduation (during part excluded)
1.
B - You wake up with hopes, excitement, lots of inexhaustible energy to the screams of ur mom n dad and look forward to whats in store for the day. Friends, fun, learning, fights, sports and many more unknown things.
A - Wake up to look at the clock. Then feel like not waking up as u already know whats in store for that day. Hopes, energy, excitement are words that dont make sense anymore.
Screams of parents - no way...they are retired now.
2.
B - The classes are exciting, everyone wants to know more. We want to solve more, puzzle ourselves more with the knowledge and have some fun the back benches. You compete, you want to win, lead - together with everyone.
A - The curve hits a rock bottom in an year. You want challenges but can't go searching for them and when they are in front of you, u r least prepared. Fun, huh! What fun?
Competetion - can you cut throats, burn bridges, change goals, step on others....!!!
3.
B - There is a common adda, everyone wants to meet there and plan some activity most of the time some kind of sport at the end of the day (that will be classes).
A - Everyone reaches home, no spirit left, blankly watches TV, eats, sleeps.
4.
B - Dreams - horror, comedy, action or any other genre yet the most creative ones
A - Dreams, not at night. Most of the day time is spent in this activity. Aggravated at times when u watch a good game or movie on tv.
5.
B - Friend and love is the things you want most. Try to innocently strike a conversation with every girl/boy in the class. Talk a lot, play a lot, share a lot.
A - You see a girl/boy and then simply estimate him/her to be your/not your range. Once you think he/she is ur range then wait for a proper moment (not sure for what) and which never comes. Not ur range (99% cases), well its two parallel lines.
6.
B - Weekend (mostly only sunday) means your favourite tv shows, may be a movie and some special food with family, extended hours of sports with friends.
A - most of us take rest for two days straight. I dont understand how people can refill their spirits by plain sleeping even now. some weekend means booze (pub/home) and then finally it comes back to rest after that. Friends (not taking calls - decided they are not my type), family (will talk a little long if its not about marriage/savings/future/family problems)
7.
B - there is no concept of girlfriends here. if you have one then i am not sure how u will fare in A but one word i can think of is desperate.
A - haaa....i am almost out of energy to talk about this topic here. well, you never share any information abt her or ur relation with her even vth ur best friends. u text so much but its nothing important. and i am always confused to what the boy n girl expect to get from the relationship. forgot one important observation here - there is never a friendship without feelings between a boy and a girl in this stage. if there is u can consider urself one in a million.
8.
B - most of the days u r bored of home food and want to taste everything in a hotel menu
A - home food is a god given gift for you and all hotel menus look alike and most of the times u dont even need the menu card.
9.
B - you have no time to sit on the computer (i guess most of our gen dont even have one then).
A - PC/Laptop is where 80% of ur active life (not sleeping time) is. This is where u can find majority of ur friends and may be talk to them.
10.
B - pocket money, doesnt matter just ask dad what u want. he decides if u NEED it or not and most of the times u achieve it.
A - Money is everything (ateast very high priority) spent mostly on brands and corporates.
We dont know what we need. House and Car are somehow most basic investments (esp for SW enggs). If you are a saving freak - my condolences.
Moral of the story....
B - I HAVE A LIFE..hell yeah..!!
A - I AM NOT SURE WHEN/HOW I AM LIVING..!!!

Ramayana For Geeks
Well, i am not sure if anyone ever got/heard/seen this idea but today i was thinking if Ramayan were to happen in Cyber age it would be like this.
Balakanda
Scene 1 - After training under VishwaMithra when he comes looking for anti-hackers to stop the demonic hackers from disturbing his website to spread peace.
Scene 2 - Ram and Laskhmana are trained in all possible legacy, front-end, back-end, open source and all other softwares, databases and are also given hardware training and they save the first website.
Scene 3 - Janaka's young daughter Sita hacks easily while playing video games into his super-computer gifted to him by lord Siva and he decides that it is time to find the groom for her and announces a swayamvaram.
Scene 4 - Ram, raavan and few other princes come to the competetion. It is announced that the person who can hack into the super computer is to be married to Sita. Ram not only manages to hack the computer but also corrupts its root directory and OS. :P Ram and Sita get married.
Ayodhyakanda
Scene 1 - Ram is about to be made the CEO of his SW company (largest in India)
Kaikeyi forces Dasarath to send Ram into a start up company and asks for Bharata to be made the CEO instead.
Scene 2 - Bharata comes to the start-up and requests Ram to return but Ram refuses and instead takes back a portable drive from Ram which has all the necessary whatever to run the company. :)
Aranyakanda
Scene 1 - Ram, Sita and Lakshmana are very happy in their startup and they set up a virtual network in which they spend their days. They are very proud of the virtual world they created. This is a high level system in which the mind travels into the virtual world (something like matrix) and the body dies if someone dies in side the system.
Scene 2 - Surpanaka hacks into the system and tries to seduce the brothers but the hurt her badly. Thats when Ravana decides to enter the scene. He guises as a tester, enters the virtual world and kidnaps and locks away Sita's consciousness in a remote server.
While transporting this data to the remote server the firewall controlled by Jatayu tries to stop it but is burnt.
Also, Sita leaves the data traces with Hanuman while being transported.
Kiskhindakanda
Ram helps the hack-war between Vaali and Sugreeva and Sugreeva sets his army of data-trackers to find out the location of the remote server where sita is locked.
Angada and Hanuman return with successful return values from a server in Lanka.
Sundarakanda
Hanuman is on a mission to Lanka to find the exact spot of the server and also to scout the defences there.
Sita give a unique identifier key to Hanuman and he returns this data to Ram. Hanuman, annihilates a big part of Lankan servers, firewalls and other softwares during his trip there.
Yudhakanda
Once in Lanka, Ram and others enter the virtual world to fight Ravana and get back Sita's conscience. This is when Lakshmana is set in a special hardware based lock. Thats when Hanuman is sent to get a special China made key to break that lock and Hanuman gets the whole mountain of keys to unlock as he couldnt tell the exact key.
Finally, after knowing the special hack key to fighting Ravana in the Virtual world in Lanka from Vibhishana, Ram defeats Ravana and returns to Ayodhya with Sita.
Ramayana has always been one of my favourite stories to tell. Unlike Mahabharata which has many side stories and a zillion tracks going on in parallel, Ramayana is much simple and straight-forward.
We did a Ramayana skit in engineering 1st year for our freshers party and it was a modern musical and we thoroughly enjoyed rehearsing, making and writing a screenplay for that.
Given a chance i would love to bring out my own animated feature on Ramayana some day.
Well, this is what it might sound like some years later. I wrote this in minimal time and hence you can imagine/improvise the rest from this. Well, i hope you guys enjoyed this. Leave your comments.

One and only
LION - (source WIKI)
The lion (Panthera leo) is one of the four big cats in the genus Panthera, and a member of the family Felidae. With some males exceeding 250 kg (550 lb) in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in Sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with a critically endangered remnant population in Gir Forest National Park in India, having disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago, the lion was the most widespread large land mammal after humans. They were found in most of Africa, much of Eurasia from western Europe to India, and in the Americas from the Yukon to Peru.
SIMHA - (the one and only Balayya)
Simha (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is/was one of the four big heroes in the genus Tollywood and a member of the family NTR. With most males exceeding 100kgs in weight, they occupy the first few places preceded by none. Hit Simhas and its fans currently exist n Sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with a critically endangered remnant population in Guntur and coastal AP, having disappeared from major cities like Hyderabad in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago, the simhas were the most famous movie land heroes after gods. They were found in most of Andhra Pradesh, much of Karnataka from western ghats to Bangalore, and in the Tamil Nadu from the Sennai (sry chennai) to wherever.
Moral of the story: I think its time the Simhas evolve or go extinct. The stunts were fine in historic periods when science and Physics still didnt know what gravity meant or the mass-energy relations.
There were times when they seemed like they would bounce back but they keep doing stupid fight against intelligent and ever evolving film viewers and can never see their position (losing everything) from the public/critics eyes.
2nd Moral: I am part of the almost extinct movie buffs who tend to enjoy the old school dramas to the max along with a group of friends. I have missed only a couple of Balayya's movies on first day since Vijayendraverma (man it is one of the most entertaining movies of the century, hope they make a 3D Bluray disc of that movie).
So guys, here is my idea to stop (or atleast stall temporarily) the extiction of this genre of movies. All of you please watch the movie in theaters (if possible on first day). Since, i won't be there in India and it is not releasing in PR, we will watch it arnd the 50th day if by any chance it is available in one of the theaters nearby.

The magic of..!!
It starts at Fiji, New Zealand and the easter tip of Russia...
It comes cruising happily through japan/australia, china, india, middle east, europe/africa, puero rico, new york, chicago, california, hawaii finally ending at samoa....it brings happiness and hope in to the working class..especially my breed who work for five days.
If you still didnt get it, I am talking about the beautiful Friday evening, the ending of another tiring week and the beginning of another nice weekend.
Wish you all a very happy weekend.
I still got 6-7 hours to go when i wrote this post while my friends in
@ Australia are drunk and ready to sleep,
@ Singapore are having a nice family dinner,
@ India are getting ready to leave office with hopes of a good performance from Deccan Chargers or making some call to fix a plan for dinner,
@ England are preparing dinner and getting ready for a night shift
@ Africa have just an hour or 2 of work left and looking at the clock in melancholy wishing atleast one or two friends were with him to enjoy
@ Puerto Rico its 1120AM, calculating the time remaining and trying to pass some time while wishing the clock to directly go to 6pm instead of 12,
@ New York/Chicago, will be in my state in another hour or two
@ California, still happily in bed ready to wake up with the happy thoughts of a beautiful friday and dreams of a great weekend ahead.

HOLI 2010..HK HK KKHH HR HR RRHH
No, the title is not an abbrevation for an upcoming KJ-SRK flick.
Happy holi every one....my holi was more like what Sri Krishna Janmashtami in India would be like..!! Confused?? Let me explain.
Sanjay, one of my desi colleagues here in PR told me that 28th being Holi and Sunday here we (Indians) planned to meet at the Radha-Krishna temple (ISKCON). "Wow..kool so i wont be missing anything this holi. I will also be able to meet most of the Indians on the Island and hopefully there will be some Indian food that i didnt cook." These were my pre-sunday/holi thoughts and i was right only about the Indian food part.
It was a nice drive around 20 miles from my apartment and the last few miles in a nice ghat. We reached the temple around 4PM and it was built on a hill top at a very pleasant place. After looking around for sometime. We sat down looking at the children (locals wearing Indian dresses and big naamams of what looked like sandalwood paste) playing around.
Then slowly people kept coming in and by 7 there were about 50 people there and only 10 desis. Most of the locals were dressed in cotton kurtas and dhotis (south indian style). They all started the bhajan at around 4pm chanting "Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare". We joined for some time came out and roamed around and again joined in for some time.
The best part was the last hour of bhajan when everyone stood up and started dancing for the bhajans. They sped up the chanting. The girls were dancing some indian folk (only one step) which looked like Dandia sans the sticks.
Finally by 9 all of them cooled down once the prasadam (they use this exact word but was actually a dinner) and the items were like this. Cake slice, rice with a curry (made of kabuli chana, potato and paneer), sweet (kind of halwa made of wheat), strawberry buttermilk shake and the best of all Dahi wada.
We were back at home before 10PM and thats how i celebrated my holi.

HERO...!!!
Its about everyone of us. Recently, when i was watching a movie i saw the hero doing something stupid and getting himself into deep trouble (of course he successfully comes out with a few scratches at the end), i was thinking, "only if i was in his place..!!"
That night when i was about to sleep a simple debate came up in my mind.
"Imagining being a hero" and "Being a hero"
Guess i will have to define hero first for you people to take a side.
Here is mine: "A person who fights/tackles extraordinary situations (a normal person would have normally/generally given up on) and ends up saving his friends and some times may be a geographical region with his own sense of justice (which people love) or someone who achieves extraordinary things in life against all odds." I guess everyone has his own definition of a hero in one way or another which will be a bit close to this.
I am sure everyone of us imagined being a Sachin Tendulkar, a Michael Jackson, a super spy, a superman, an army major at Kargil war, a Bruce Lee, oka baalayya (on popular demand) and the list goes on. (Looks like i am a male chauvinist, once done i saw that i didnt even mention one female name. Lets leave that part for the time being.)
In the above list i mentioned there are some real life heroes and some fictional characters but what matters is when ever we watch one of these in the media we are filled with a nice feeling, "Yes.!" as if we achieved something. One reason might be because of the hope they fill in our hearts.
I am trying my best not to be as ambiguous as Madhu in his blog "Wrong..!" but looks like i am already.
SO, the debate i was talking about is "Can i really be a hero?"
If i have to become a hero i should be able to do at least one of the things below:
1. Fight against the anti-social elements and bring down a whole criminal organization.
2. Achieve a khel-ratna in some sport or the Arjuna award.
3. Become a scientist and find a cure for some disease.
4. Save a planet from alien attack.
5. Simply dance with a nice girl and start a love story and finally win her (a typical bolly-hero)
6. Fight a hundred factionists and build a dam in seema (a typical tolly-hero)
7. Write a few literary classics.
8. Fight for a seperate state or against it.
9. Be a Special agent trying to solve a murder (revenge for a murdered partner) while trying to catch a terrorist bomber and saving your family.
10. a farmer who joins the communists and holds a red-flag to fight the local dictator.
and the list goes on...
See how impractical it is for a typical middle-class family's elder son who according to his parent's wishes and a society with a very narrow vision learned maths and physics(at that time thought was the best thing to do), completed engineering half-heartedly (sadly in a race against hundreds with a similar fate) and is now a software engineer (like thousands) with almost no inspiration at all to do anything, not to mention the already very important 25 years of growing up behind him to become one of the above. Well, since most of you (reading this) are in a very similar stage it might not be hard to understand.
But while reading or watching fictional or real life heroes you can always imagine being in their place and always think of solutions in their place. What do we get by doing this? May be a little happiness, a distraction and a little work for the brain in a different direction (it has been working in a monotonous way the last few years) and an easier way to get to sleep.
A song from a recent movie, "Give me some sun shine, give me some rain, give me another chance I wanna grow up once again..." must have moved you a lot. At least a few of us might have thought, "Yaa..!! take me back n number of years back and i will show you what can i grow into..!!"
Well, that means you have decided what you want to grow in to. Since you didn't know that in childhood you couldn't grow in that direction. Well, if you haven't decided but just want to leave it to chance but to work a little harder than you did at some stages then i think it is really useless. May be you would be in a little better position than you are in right now but definitely there wouldn't be any astonishing achievements.
Then, if you already know what you want to be. Then there is no meaning in going back a few years in my view. It is never late to start fresh and start achieving. Officially, there is no age-limit for being a hero in your own way (except may be a few dogmas). "Man..!! i hate these dogmas, standards, rules."
SO, at the end of this debate, i found this.
The kind of hero you are imagining (includes superheroes), start imagining in a more detailed way and may be one day you will find a way (in those details) to become a hero in your own way.
P.S.: If you like this and understand it..."Koooooooool..!!"
If you didn't, "I am not sure i can be of any further help."
